Semantics in practice

Greeting from the better-late-than-never department! I've created this blog so my peers and I can share war stories, best practices, and general musings about semantics in practice. What does that mean? For us, in 2009, "semantics in practice" means building better search, navigation, and content management systems, usually with the assistance of vocabularies. We tend to be agnostic in our semantic beliefs: we use formal taxonomies when the need arises, but we're also big fans of tags, and of using social technologies (like Twitter.) Anything that gets people to the information they need, quickly. We're primarily practitioners; we're in there doing the work, so watch this space to see what we're up to.
